Cutting Sure-Board® is easy with the use of a carbide tip saw blade in the skill saw.
Set the blade shallow to score the sheet steel only. Be sure to wear proper eye protection when cutting the sheet steel.
The third cut finishes the window opening.
Peel away the unwanted sheet steel.
Note:
In most cases large openings do not occur in shear walls. The shear wall typically ends at the jambs of the opening. The surface above and below the large opening would normally be covered with wallboard only.
Install the Sure-Board® sheet with steel removed and use router to remove drywall from opening.
